The Bionic Stan

This man is a walking cyborg. Implanted in his chest is sophisticated equipment which monitors his heart. When it goes into severe fibrillation, as in the graph at left, it kicks out a 37-joule electric shock -- just like they do in the ER with the paddles. One drawback: There's nobody to shout out "Clear!" As you can see from the right side of the graph (which is an actual readout from the device), the machine did its job, and kept Stan from being just another statistic in the obituary column.
