Flower To The People
This Lygodesmia juncea is a native Montana plant, but I hadn't seen it on our place other than next to the power pole, where one of the trucks trying to patch our barbed wire back together must have deposited it. Do you like its glabrous herbage with cauline leaves? How about the ligulate head, the obconic involucre, and the scarious-margined phyllaries? Ahhh, botanists. Definitely a language of their own!
