The Next Generation
As noted here a couple years ago, Tragopogon dubius has become a very prevalent noxious weed hereabouts. Look like this one is ready to give rise to a few more, doesn't it?

People here call it "milkweed"; I guess the usual common name is "yellow salsify". But hey, I just saw one online: "Jack-go-to-bed-at-noon"! I suppose from its habit of opening the blossoms at sunrise, then closing them around noon when the bees are sleeping anyway.
