Lake Saint Pendroy
That's what kids called this in the eighties, influenced by the infamous volcano to the west. I can't recall that we had any elaborate names for it back in the sixties, but it certainly was an exciting day. When school let out we would race for its shores, building rafts out of whatever scraps of wood we could round up, and otherwise frolicking in the cold meltwaters, much to the delight of our mothers.
