Stopped in to visit a Strange Tripper the other day. He wondered if I wanted to see the results of his benchmarking. Well, I'm sort of a computer nerd, so I figured he had been testing the speed of his system, but no! Apparently "benchmarking" is a junior child of "geocaching", where one uses a GPS device to locate old USGS survey benchmarks such as this.

Incidentally, if you want to find this benchmark, just go to 48°01.985'N, 112°16.297'W. Easy!
