Country Cousin
This seems to be one of the more spectacular years for lilacs in recent memory. Down in the town, the boulevards are lined with them, to the point where the senses (visual, olfactory and allergenic) are overwhelmed to the point of boredom.

Out here in the shelterbelt though, this lone specimen, who somehow miraculously survived whatever killed her neighbours, is a sparkling jewel wafting magical incense across the prairie.
