That Ancient Shore
I don't know much geology, but I think this type of rock is some indication we are farming in what once was a shallow sea. Don't suppose that matters much to the poor fellow whose plowshank foundered against this monstrosity.

Puts me in mind of the laconic Yankee farmer asked by a tourist where all the rocks in his field had come from. "Glacier brung 'em", he shrugged. "Well, where did the glacier go?" wondered the tourist. "Back for more rocks, I reckon".
