Uncommon Conveyance

Back in Pendroy's good old days, Shorty Cornett spent most of one summer laboriously carting concrete by the wheelbarrowfull up a makeshift series of ramps to build a 2-storey high firewall between his establishment and the one next door. I think he had some idea that a friction-fire might be imminent over there. Gee, what do you suppose he would have given for a contraption like this?!
