Summer Adieu

Labo[u]r Day, with the "u" or without, has always seemed a bittersweet holiday, a last chance to do the summer things somehow left undone (again), with solemn vows: Next Year! Next Year! A whole new plan! The hammock slung, wading pool filled, garden weeded and fish in the creel; Oh, and the cotton is high!
