Galactic Gala

Click on the "space" link above to view a larger and yet larger picture of this marvelous view from the Hubble Space Telescope. When you realize that our Milky Way galaxy is just like one of those little pinwheels out there, and our Sun just a little star out towards the edge, it gives pause to wonder. Those of you who recall the early trials and tribulations of the HST, and perhaps ranted at the entire space program, now earn the reward of patience nonetheless. Those of us who arose in the pre-dawn hours to watch a black and white Walter Cronkite count down the launches: Mercury, Gemini, Apollo... Yeah! Gotta love it!
