Today's featured site (and tongue-twister) is the Ichthyosaurus page of Ryosuke Motani. These awesome fish-like reptiles ruled the seas 200 million years ago. Some of them had, by far, the largest eyes of any creature ever to live on the planet! It is thought that they were capable of diving up to 1,500 meters deep in pursuit of squid, much like today's whales. Mr. Motani, now the foremost authority on them, relates that he was not interested in them as a child "Because they looked too ordinary in my picture books."
