Shining Mountains

Our Front Range are the "Shining Mountains" which were Lewis and Clark's first glimpse of the Rockies, which proved not to be so easy to cross as they had imagined:

The want of provisions together with the dificul[t]y of passing those emence mountains dampened the sperits of the party which induced us to resort to Some plan of reviving ther sperits.

the Mountains continues as fer as our eyes could extend. they extend much further than we expeted.
