The Archetypal Mobile Home

Cut and peel the lodgepoles and drag them back to camp. Kill a few bison, skin them, scrape and tan the hides. Assemble it in the time-honored form. Grind some pigments, mix with hot water, paint it in your unique style. Basic shelter, ready to move at a moment's notice.

A lot of work; but it would be instructive to add up the man- and woman-hours, multiply by minimum wage, and compare to the cost of today's new mobile home. I have an idea that yesteryear's starter home was a much better deal. Plus there was the benefit of all that bison meat to boot......
