Sure, it's easy to get excited about the prairie in spring, with its rampant and riotous display of wildflowers, green waving grasses, frolicking wildlife babies, etc. After "Three Months No Rain" however, only a true prairie dweller could find solace in a return to these baked and crusty environs from the (relatively) green sun-dappled brook-babbling world of trees to be found in Western Montana.
After a brief sojourn "across the backbone", I am not ashamed to say: Glad to be back home.
